Description
Hello, my name is Ozzy, I am a 13 year old African Grey. I am a really chatty and friendly bird who is looking for a quiet home with one or two people. I get really anxious when people get too close, but despite this I have not bitten my safehouse family even once. Instead, i display my anxiety by plucking and chewing my feathers and I am missing some tail and wing feathers. Despite this my safehouse still things I’m beautiful.
Since i’ve been with my safehouse, I haven’t plucked, because I have lots of things to keep me occupied and I feel safer here. However, because of the amount of missing wing feathers I have, I can’t fly at the moment and it is not known whether I ever have or ever will be able to fly in the future. When my cage door is open, i like to climb out and sit on top, whilst there my safehouse gives me toilet rolls and cardboard toys to play with and I love to rip these up.
My safehouse has been encouraging me to be brave and teaching me how to step up; I’ve even sat on their hand and shoulder a few times now. I like to be rewarded with a nut or some yummy veggies when I do what you ask. If you are willing to work with me at my own pace, I will try and be a little more adventurous and I will become your forever friend.
I can talk and am very clever in picking up new sentences, sounds and phrases. If you need someone to talk to the postman, I’m your parrot! I like to chat to you all day and watch you around the house. Maybe over time we can do chores together! I really like music, especially cheerful music which I like to dance to together. If you can sing even better!
Sadly the cage I came with was in poor condition and too small for me. I also don’t have many perches or toys because I’m a bit afraid of them. But my safehouse is sure that in time I could get used to them. So if you become my forever home, could you please buy me a lovely big cage that I can hangout in ?
