Hello everybody,
I would like to introduce myself; my name is Syd and I am an 18-year-old male lesser sulphur crested cockatoo.
At the moment I am living with a safehouse family as my previous fosterer became poorly. My safehouse dad is the person that looks after me, he spends time talking to me and he feeds me, I love talking back to him and telling him what has been happening (I am the only one that can understand what I am saying though)!
I love to give him kisses and come out and sit with him and I do love to fly around and stretch my beautiful wings too. However, I don’t like it when the safehouse mum is around especially when I am out of my cage and I can get very jealous if she comes near me or my safehouse dad. I am also not keen on children or other animals like dogs.
I have been told that I am a good eater and that I am a good boy as I eat my vegetables and fruit that are healthy, but I like my seed mix best of all. I am big on chewing wood and cardboard and my safehouse makes sure that there are lots of things that are mine to play with, so that I don’t start on their fixtures and fittings he he he ! I like to have a shower with my spray bottle, this keeps my feathers looking magnificent
My safehouse dad says that I am lively and a show-off! Like most cockatoos I do get noisy when I want attention, or if the little doggies that are here start barking at the door I join in and have learnt how to bark too!
Whilst I adore my safehouse dad, we have agreed that I should find a daddy who can spend more time with me, and who I don’t have to share with women, or children, or dogs etc. So, we are looking for a loving male orientated family that can be very patient with me, and give me time to settle and become a part of the family. In return I will give you so much love and kisses and hours and hours of entertainment every day.
