Description

Hello my name is Tengu, I am 18 years old and came into Birdline because my owner could no longer care for me. I am a little wary of new thing, but soon settle in and make myself at home. When I get to know you I am really friendly and even a little bit cheeky ! I appear to have a preference for females but I’ve lived with males in the past too and that was ok.

I can step up nicely, and I fly really well; but you have to be careful to make sure I don’t get panicked and flap away, in case I hurt myself. For that reason its best I don’t live in a house with young children, because they often do unpredictable things that startle me. I can be a little cage aggressive, but safehouse mum thinks thats more from timidity then a sign of real aggression.

My safehouse mum say’s I am very talented with a large vocabularly and can whistle lots of tunes. My favourite tunes are the Archers theme and  Half a Pound of Tuppeny Rice and I am always ready to greet you with “Hello” or “Good Morning”, I also say my name “Good boy”, “what you doing”, “see you later”, “put the kettle on”, “silly dog” and lots more !

Like most grey’s I love to shred things like card and paper and I also love playing with foot and rope toys. I’m quite content to amuse myself and sometimes I don’t even come out of the cage when the door is open. So if you have to leave me to go to work I don’t think I would mind too much.

So what do you think? Could you give me a chilled out, loving forever home, where I can feel secure and learn to get over my timidity?
