Support Us

We are an independent charity and we rely on the generosity of our Members and supporters to continue our mission to rescue, rehome and rehabilitate exotic birds. There are many ways to support us and get closer to the work we do. If you would like to discuss any of the opportunities further, then please get in touch.

Membership

Members are the backbone of our charity, and your membership helps us to rescue and rehome hundreds of parrots. As a member you can apply to safehouse or foster a bird. Your Area Coordinator or Area Manager will be there to give you advice and support during this process. Donate

Are you as nuts about birds as we are? If so you can help us help the birds in our care by donating to Birdline.

Birdline cage fund

Many of the birds we rescue do not have suitable cages, they can be too small, rusty or damaged through years of neglect. You can contribute to our Cage Fund here.

Bird sponsorship

Love birds but can’t have one of your own? Want to sponsor a special needs bird? There are several birds in Birdline who have prior medical conditions, which makes them uninsurable and thus, difficult to rehome due to the extra costs involved in caring for them.

If you would like to sponsor one of our special need birds, you can find them here.

Bequests

Leaving a gift in your Will to Birdline is a very personal way to express your support for the organisation and an opportunity to be part of its future. Your gift, whatever its size, will help safeguard the charity and the parrots we care for, for many years to come. o find out more about leaving a bequest to Birdline click here.

Volunteering

Birdline is run entirely by volunteers and we are always interested to hear from anyone who may be able to offer their time and skills to help with our work.  Volunteering is a really rewarding way to help birds in need and it’s also good fun too, as it puts you in touch with a wide network of fellow bird lovers!

We are looking for people to help in the following ways:

  • Rehoming team – interviewing applicants by telephone.
  • Homecheckers – nationwide
  • Helpline team
  • Area Managers and Co-ordinators
  • Event ambassadors
  • Professional support e.g. fundraising, marketing, PR, graphic design, merchandising, legal and financial.
  • IT support – particularly database migration.
  • Board Members
  • Clerical work
  • Volunteer training and management
