Support Us

We are an independent charity and we rely on the generosity of our Members and supporters to continue our mission to rescue, rehome and rehabilitate exotic birds. There are many ways to support us and get closer to the work we do. If you would like to discuss any of the opportunities further, then please get in touch.

Are you as nuts about birds as we are? If so you can help us help the birds in our care by donating to Birdline.

Birdline cage fund

Many of the birds we rescue do not have suitable cages, they can be too small, rusty or damaged through years of neglect. You can contribute to our Cage Fund here.

Bird sponsorship

Love birds but can’t have one of your own? Want to sponsor a special needs bird? There are several birds in Birdline who have prior medical conditions, which makes them uninsurable and thus, difficult to rehome due to the extra costs involved in caring for them. If you would like to sponsor one of our special need birds, you can find them here.

Volunteering

Birdline is run entirely by volunteers and we are always interested to hear from anyone who may be able to offer their time and skills to help with our work.  Volunteering is a really rewarding way to help birds in need and it’s also good fun too, as it puts you in touch with a wide network of fellow bird lovers!

We are looking for people to help in the following ways:

  • Rehoming team – interviewing applicants by telephone.
  • Homecheckers – nationwide
  • Helpline team
  • Area Managers and Co-ordinators
  • Event ambassadors
  • Professional support e.g. fundraising, marketing, PR, graphic design, merchandising, legal and financial.
  • IT support – particularly database migration.

Bequests

When you foster from Birdline, you may find reassurance that we will always be there to support you and your fostered birds if your circumstances change. However, have you put a contingency in place for your other pets, and how to cope with them in the coming years? Let’s face it, given the lifespan of many exotic birds, it is possible that yours may outlive you. We are happy to discuss your bird’s long-term care plans with you and we maintain a register of birds who will come to us and remain safely in our hands on the event of their owners passing.

Of course, what better way is there for you to continue your passion for birds, than by consider leaving a legacy to support your birds and ours?  Leaving a gift in your Will to Birdline is a very personal way to express your support for the organisation and an opportunity to be part of its future. Your gift, whatever its size, will help safeguard the charity and the parrots we care for, for many years to come. Please contact us to discuss your requirements further.
