Description

Hey there, fellow bird enthusiasts! We are Fred, and Mitch, two African Gray parrot siblings with quite a story to tell. We are 20 years old and having been together all our lives, we know all of each other’s secrets. While we do enjoy chit-chatting, we’re more into whistling tunes that brighten up the day. But don’t be fooled; we can surprise you with a word or two when you least expect it

Fred had to have one of his toes amputated, but that doesn’t stop him from getting around brilliantly. He is the charming lady’s man of the family and loves cuddles with family members, including the kids. Despite his foot issue, Fred’s health is pretty good, and he’s a friendly, lively parrot during the day. However, Fred is scared of sticks and balloons, and his worst nightmare would be a birthday party with balloons and pinatas!

Mitch, on the other hand, is a bit of a sensitive homebody. She’s always been a one-person bird, especially attached to her “dad” whom she can be very protective over. She has been known to show her feathers or beak if she thinks someone is distracting Dad’s attention away from her. If she wants something or is upset, she isn’t afraid to show it by banging her toys of the cage bars.  Plucking can be a problem for her when she’s stressed, but otherwise, she’s a charming and vocal parrot who loves to whistle.

As siblings, we spend most of our time together, both in and out of our spacious 2m x 2m x 1m cage. We both wake up at first light, have our food throughout the day, and enjoy treats in the evening. We go to bed when it’s dark and usually have no issues settling down. We used to be out of our cages more, but lately, it’s been around 1 to 2 hours a day. As we have each other for company, we are fine to be left alone whilst our humans are at work.

We’re not that fussy about toys, but we do enjoy shredding things from time to time. We have to keep our feathers in tip top condition, so we do like a good spray or a bath in a bowl to freshen up now and then. We love our food, and our big fans of seeds, fruits, and vegetables. We’re not afraid of other animals, like dogs and cats, as long as they mind their own business.

Ideally, we’d love to have a man and woman to live with, so we can have a favourite person each. So, if you’re a family with some time and love to spare, we might just be the perfect feathery addition to your home. We’ll bring melody and joy to your life, guaranteed!
