Hello, my name is Oscar and I am a friendly African Grey.
I am a cheeky chap at times as I like to be the centre of attention and will whistle and talk for the attention.I am quite friendly to both men and women so do not really have a preference. I do not really like to be handled although I am happy to climb onto my cage door, sometimes I will even be brave and climb down and wander around the house.
I do talk and say things like “are we going shopping”? “have you been a good boy”? and other things too. I do like to chew my toys, but I am not destructive. I have not been left on my own for long periods so it would be nice to have someone around during the day. I can fly but prefer not to as I have trouble coordinating my landings, so I find walking much better as I am quite clumsy when I fly.
I do prefer my own company and am not interested in other birds.
I don’t step up yet as I’m rather nervous but will walk up to you for a head scratch when I get to know you, but I prefer to stay in or on my cage and will go back into my cage when asked.
